Vaughan Infrastructure are carrying out upgrade works to the existing Beenleigh Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to boost capacity to the local network, enhance environmental performance, and reduce operational costs. 


The project will see a brand-new wastewater pump station, 2km of DN800 rising main pipeline, integrated shutdowns within the existing plant during commissioning and associated infrastructure required to smoothly transition flows to the Loganholme WWTP. 


Scope of work includes: 


  • Construction of all wet well, storage tank, in-ground pits, valve chambers, retaining structures, access road and fit out of Beenleigh Treatment Plant upgrade. 

  • Design, Construct & RPEQ sign off sheet piles retaining structure to enable the construction of the wet and dry wells.

  • Construction of 120m of sheet piles, installation of fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) and 770m3 of concrete. 

  • Enabling works, site establishment and clear and grub. 

  • Installation of approximately 1km of DN375 DICL, DN500 DICL, DN600 DICL, DN750 DICL and OD450 PE. 

  • Installation of valves and valve chambers. 

  • Testing and commissioning of pipelines. 

  • Development of commissioning plans and integration plans with existing wastewater treatment plant 

  • Design of formwork shutters, deep shoring, crane pads, crane lift plans and staging plans for the project. 

  • Grouting and decommissioning 280m of pipelines. 

  • Installation of electrical conduits, switchboards and commissioning. 

  • Benching and Polyethylene lining (PE) lining. 

  • Above ground pipe work. 

  • Mechanical fit out of pumps, discharge flow rate 2021-2041 587 l/s and discharge flow rate 2042-ultimate 722 l/s. 

  • Structural steel fit out of dry well and installation of gantry cranes. 

  • Construction of retention walls and soil retention by means of shotcrete. 

  • Construction of generator slabs and pads. 

  • Construction of concrete driveways, supply, and lay asphalt/roadworks and FRP kerbs. 

  • Supply and install drainage pipes and pits. 

  • Final landscaping and fencing. 

  • Demolish and perform alterations to existing storage tank.
