COMPLETION DATE:
The Coach and Grogan Sewer Upgrade Project involves the construction and upgrade of critical wastewater infrastructure in Morayfield, QLD, to support future population growth and improve network reliability. The works are delivered under a subcontract arrangement and comprise three separable portions: Sewer Gravity Main (SGM); Sewer Rising Main (SRM); and Sewer Pump Stations (SPS MOR010 and MOR020). Vaughan Infrastructure is responsible for end‑to‑end delivery, including construction.
Scope of Works
The Coach & Grogan Sewer Upgrade project commenced with early‑stage works focused on establishing a safe, compliant, and well‑controlled construction environment within a live public road corridor. Initial activities included project mobilisation, site establishment, and the delivery of plant, equipment, and materials from the depot to site. Temporary fencing and pedestrian exclusion zones were installed to clearly separate construction activities from public areas and protect surrounding assets.
Early works also involved service locating and investigation activities to identify existing underground services and confirm constraints prior to excavation. These works were undertaken in coordination with specialist service locators and site supervision to minimise risk to existing infrastructure. Earthworks preparation and laydown areas were established to support forthcoming construction activities, with careful consideration given to access, plant movement, and material storage within a constrained site footprint.
The scope further includes ongoing site supervision, daily site diary reporting, and implementation of safety, environmental, and traffic interface controls. Weather impacts were managed during the initial mobilisation period, with work sequencing adjusted to maintain
safety and productivity. The project continues to progress through early construction phases, laying the groundwork for subsequent sewer installation works while maintaining strong safety, quality, and stakeholder management practices from project commencement.
