As part of the $11 million sewage upgrade in the Cockle Bay area which included the installation of 33km of pipelines and a sewage pumping station, Vaughan Infrastructure was engaged by Central Coast Council for the Design and Construction of a new pump station and supporting pipelines. 


Scope of works included: 


  • Construction of a 3m diameter by 10m deep wet well. 

  • Construction of inlet riser pipes and wall penetrations, discharge rising main from the dry well outlets, including bypass injection point and slab. 

  • Deep excavation in water charged ground. Detailed temporary works design and dewatering system. 

  • Installation of large values and mechanical equipment for pumping station. 

  • Commissioning, cut-ins, flow management and transfers to existing plant. 

  • Control and telemetry systems installed and configured to IICATS requirements. 

  • Development and implementation of wastewater commissioning plan and proof of performance testing. 

  • Construction of intake pipework and rising mains varying from DN150 to DN750 DICL and HDPE, including thrust blocks, valves and valve pits. 

  • Construction of access roads blockwork and cladding. 

  • Demolition and disposal of the storage tank internal walls including the pipe penetration core holes and treatment of exposed reinforcement. 

  • Installation of 500m of electrical conduits and pits.
