As part of the Prospect to Macarthur (ProMac) project, Vaughan Infrastructure carried out the construction a new water pumping station in Harrington Park, to provide drinking water services for 84,000 new homes in the Southwest Growth Area and Western Sydney Aerotropolis Growth Area. This pump station helped bolster the water transfer link from Prospect South Water Distribution System (WDS) to Macarthur WDS, it is required to transfer up to 100 ML/day of drinking water between the systems.

The project site was adjacent to a residential community which relied on our team to effectively liaise with Downer to engage with local stakeholders and residents to advise of upcoming works and noise controls and to ensure effective traffic management plans to mitigate traffic congestion caused by site works.

Scope of works included:

  • Building the pipeline, pumpstation and associated building to deliver flows in Macpro.

  • Resilience Mode of 87 ML/day from Narellan South Reservoir to Oran Park Reservoir via 2 high head pumps operating in parallel.

  • Early works consisting of investigation to inform design finalisation and to prove the design alignment and project requirements.

  • Installation and welding of MSCL pipework, fittings. FRP all cast in-situ pits, walls and building structures required for the pump station.

  • Construction of the pump station facility, including installation of pumps, testing and commissioning works.
