Under the ProMac program of works, Vaughan Infrastructure constructed new water pipelines, two 24ML reservoir tank foundations and stabilisation infrastructure between Prospect South and Macarthur as part of Sydney Water's long-term plan to extend the city’s water capacity and supply. 


The overall scope of works included: Early works investigation and design verification, the construction of steel and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipelines, trenchless under bores via micro tunnelling and the construction of two 24 megalitre reservoir tanks 


Package 17 scope: 

  • Construction of approximately 6.5km of a new DN750 steel main from Narellan Street Reservoir (WS0301) to Sugarloaf Pump Station (WP0185). 

  • Construction 1.2km of DN1200 HDPE pipeline. Dual DN800 trunk watermain relocations, installation works and associate fittings, final commissioning and connection of all new pipelines.

  •  Works through the Australian Botanical Gardens, a highly sensitive environmental area with a critically endangered swift parrot breeding grounds requiring great consideration & management on site. 


Package 15C scope: 

  • Design and Construction of noise mitigating walls and temporary works design for various stages of the project. 

  • Construction of 2 x 24 megalitre tank foundation slabs and ring beams, both 41m in diameter. 

  • Supply and install of 182 x 450mm diameter shear pins. Supply and install of 448 x 750mm diameter piles. 330m of pile capping beam (1.2m x 1m). 

  • Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP), reinforcement and concrete supply (3,200m3 and 800t of reo).
