The Moorebank Import/Export (IMEX) terminal is centrally located just 30km west of Sydney’s CBD and Port Botany at the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct. The terminal offers direct and daily connections into Port Botany on dedicated freight-only rail and is estimated to transport up to 1 million TEU Containers per annum.
Vaughan Infrastructure successfully delivered additional heavy-duty foundations for container stacking operations, which involved building 150 individual concrete beams. The pavement demolition was a combination of conventional cold milling, excavation demolition and detailed demolition and included disposal of 4,900 tonnes of demolished and excavated pavement.
Our scope of works included:
Demolition of pavement, involving coring and saw cutting, to allow for new structures.
FRP Construction of 58 full container beams (190kg/m3).
FRP Construction of 3 half container beams (200kg/m3).
FRP Construction of central and northern maintenance bays.
Installation of rail container plates, track slabs and surrounding civil works prior to installation of rail and signalling.
