The West Camden Water Treatment Plant Upgrade works has doubled the treatment capacity of the current plant and ensures sufficient capacity to service future growth in the catchment until 2046. Vaughan Infrastructure was integral in the delivery of the project by expediting sections of works and maximising resources on site to meet the critical timeline of the project. 


Scope of work included: 


  • Full construct and commissioning of all in-ground piping. 

  • 4,400m of DN1,200, DN1,000, DN800, DN750 and DN250 high density polyethylene (HDPE), ductile iron concrete lined (DICL), MSCL and stainless-steel pipelines. 

  • 1,300m of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) conduits and pit installation. 

  • 1,400m of chemical dosing lines. 1,800m of drains line and other utility lines. 

  • Construction of a sewer pump station – 3m diameter by 9m wet well and a new water treatment plant with large diameter pipeline within an existing live treatment plant. 

  • Design of temporary works, lift plans, shoring and pipeline sections to expediate delivery on site. 

  • Complex excavation around existing services and shutdowns. 

  • Development of a commissioning plan for effective integration with the existing wastewater treatment plant. 

  • Welding, pressure testing and commissioning of mild steel cement lined pipe (MSCL) and stainless-steel pipe. 

  • Cut-ins, flow management and transfers to existing plant. 

  • Pressure testing and commissioning.
